Big Daddy

I received the email below yesterday afternoon and I've run out of ways to thank people for being so wonderful.

Sadly, I will be out of town for work that day but please see the contact details at the bottom of the message if you have any interest in participating or helping Marc with his planning for next year. This a great tribute to Jay who was taken from his family by cancer and we are so thankful that it will support the MagicWater project.

I am hosting a charity golf tournament at Granite Links Golf Club on Wednesday, September 24th in memory of Jay “Big Daddy” Nickerson. All proceeds from the event will be donated to The MagicWater Project in support of Will Lacey.

Jay was a great husband, son, brother and to me and countless others – a great friend, who was tragically take from us by cancer far too young.

Big Daddy, as the nickname entails, was quite literally larger than life; he loved to have fun and to play golf, so I can’t think of better way to keep his memory alive, while at the same time supporting an incredible cause – pediatric cancer research.

Will Lacey, is the four year old son of my friends and former colleagues Pat and Dina Lacey. Will was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma at seven months old and has been bravely undergoing treatment ever since.

The MagicWater Project is a foundation created by a group of parents whose children are fighting the pediatric cancers neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma. They are in need of our support to continue to provide researchers and doctors the tools they need to help save kids from cancer.

Wednesday, September 24th will mark the inaugural event of what I hope will become an annual staple, allowing us to remember Jay and contribute to this worthy cause. In it's launch, the field will be limited to the first 40 participants. Given the tight timeframe please respond promptly if you can participate.

Next years' event is currently in the planning stages, it is expected to grow, providing even more opportunities to support The MagicWater Project and to honor the memory of our great friend, Jay "Big Daddy" Nickerson.

Please join us for what is sure to be a great day, filled with fun, food and as Jay would insist a lot of laughter!
